Design Internship

This internship provides hands-on practice experience in real-world project settings, while learning from award-winning senior-level creatives.

The internship is unpaid (for academic credit) and runs in parallel with academic semesters.

Responsibilitiesarrow
  • Work closely with one of the Creative and Design Directors to develop design concepts and follow design projects through completion.
  • Participate in design critiques and the iterative process.
  • Offer support to the internal Substance151 team: assist in preparing for client presentations, awards submissions and other Substance151 promotional activities.
Who Should Applyarrow
  • You are a 3rd or 4th year undergraduate student, or a graduate student, enrolled in a Graphic Design program at an accredited design school or university.
  • You are passionate about design, eager to learn from others, and able to take the initiative and learn from your own research and analysis.
  • You always go the extra mile, beyond the “must-haves” outlined in the given assignment, and you are able to demonstrate broad intellectual curiosity and creativity.
  • You are an excellent communicator, have impeccable attention to detail and commitment to quality of execution.
Requirementsarrow
  • Working knowledge of basic software applications, such as Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of print and digital media; web, email marketing and social media experience is a plus.
  • Previous professional design experience preferred, but not required.
  • Only applications accompanied by a design portfolio will be considered.
